Sectionals with a difference. It is so often the case that players arrive at orchestral rehearsals after a long day at work, tired, hungry, and head for home afterwards without time to enjoy contact with their fellow cellists.
This is a great way for sections to bond and achieve a goal together.
The day includes tuition with Kim to find ways round tricky relevant orchestral passages, after which the section will have fun rehearsing three or four of the many arrangements in the Chamber Cellos repertoire. Emphasis will be on ensemble playing, building confidence, watching, listening, being brave, enjoying.
The goal will be to get an arrangement good enough to play to the rest of the orchestra at their next full rehearsal.
As always the parts will be individually allocated according to ability to ensure everyone is challenged but not overwhelmed, and parts will be sent out in advance.
The venue will be of the section’s choice, maybe their own rehearsal space.
Tea/coffee/cake will be on tap throughout the day which will run from 10.00-5.00
Cost of the day – £40 per player (minimum 8 players) plus travel
