‘Stanbury Church was filled on Bank Holiday Monday by the ten cellists of Kim Mackrell’s Chamber Cellos, their special guest, David Barnard on the piano, and the many folk who came to hear them.  All were enthralled to hear this very unusual group demonstrating again (they do come once a year) the power, grace and glory of the cello. Kim is a London professional who runs courses for amateur cellists round the country. This was the culmination of her Yorkshire weekend course.  David played the blockbuster, Mozart’s Piano Concerto no 21 – all four movements.  I can’t find any other word than perfectly, to the amazing accompaniment of the the celli.  This and everything else they played were masterpieces of music arranging. They opened with Brandenburg Concerto no 3, – thrilling,  and their music ranged from ancient to modern which even included a Harry Potter waltz and an encore from West Side Story.’  – Haworth News 2011
